When submitting a minor infraction, teachers can view a running count of minor infractions for the selected student. Districts can configure what information is visible to teachers for each school. There are three available visibility options (see below). Teachers can also quickly filter results by term, such as Semester 1, Semester 2, Quarter 1, or Quarter 2.
Only a Super Admin (district-level user) can configure these settings. If a school administrator would like changes made, they should reach out to their district-level simpldiscipline contact. Settings are located in: Admin Area > Security Settings.
Visibility Options:
1. Teacher-only minor infraction count (Enabled By Default)
By default, teachers see only the minor infractions they personally submitted for the student.
This view:
•Displays a count of the student's minor infractions submitted specifically by that teacher
•Does not include infractions entered by other staff members
•Limits visibility to the teacher’s own documentation
2. School-wide minor infraction count without details (Recommended for progressive discipline)
In this configuration, teachers see the total number of minor infractions and behaviors recorded for the student across the school, but cannot view details entered by other staff members.
This view:
•Shows a school-wide total count of minor infractions and behaviors
•Prevents access to narratives, actions, or other staff documentation
•Allows teachers to open only the minor infractions they personally submitted
•Lists other infraction dates without clickable detail access
This option is recommended for schools using a progressive discipline matrix based on cumulative minor infraction counts while still protecting student privacy. When minor infraction visibility is enabled in the section above, it overrides the settings here and permits teachers to view minor infraction details.
3. Full visibility of all minor infraction details
In this configuration, teachers can see the complete history of minor infractions for the student, including details entered by other staff members.
This view:
•Displays total counts of minor infractions and behaviors
•Provides clickable dates that open the full infraction record, regardless of who documented it
•Allows teachers to review narratives, actions, and related details from all staff
