Minor Infraction Letters
simpldiscipline can automatically generate parent notification letters to help simplify parent and guardian communication when a minor infraction is submitted.
Submitting a minor infraction
When a minor infraction is submitted by a teacher or staff member, a default parent notification letter is generated for each offender. This is configured at a school level and different schools can have different default letters.
On the submission confirmation page, a list of letters generated for each student in the minor infraction is shown.
Viewing a letter
You can view a parent notification letter by clicking on its name in the list. When clicked, it will open the letter in a new tab for you to view.
Downloading a letter
You can download a parent notification letter by clicking on the Download button to the right of the letter.
Generating a new letter
simpldiscipline automatically creates one letter for each student when a minor infraction is submitted.
To generate additional letters click the New letter button and select from the list of available templates.
Some templates may require additional details and the system will prompt you for additional information.
Once you have supplied the required information, click Generate letter to build the new letter.
When the new letter has been built, you can click the letter's name to view it, or the download button to download it to your computer.
Additional letter templates
simpldiscipline supports an unlimited number of additional letter templates. Some examples of these additional letter templates can include letters such as:
- Suspension (ISS/OSS) notification letters
- Expulsion hearing letters
- Manifestation Determination Reviewer letters
- Truancy letters
To create additional letter templates, contact your school or district administrator.
Historical record
All letters generated for a student are kept securely within simpldiscipline. Generating a new letter does not delete or change any previously generated letters.
Parent notification
simpldiscipline supports automatically notifying parents/guardians after a notification letter has been generated.
