Filtering Attendance Alerts (Tardies) by Bell Schedule Period

Real-Time Alerts that use meeting attendance can be filtered by specific bell schedule periods imported from the SIS. This allows districts and schools to build attendance rules that only evaluate attendance codes from selected periods.

Filtering a Real-Time Alert by Period

When configuring a Real-Time Alert that evaluates a student attendance code, you can select which bell schedule periods should be included in the rule.
For example, you could create:

• A Late to School alert that only counts tardies recorded during 1st Block.
• A separate Tardy to Class alert that only counts tardies recorded during 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Block.

This allows the same attendance code to be used in the SIS while still creating different Real-Time Alert rules based on when during the school day the attendance event occurred.

A school uses the attendance code Tardy throughout the day but wants to track two different patterns:
