Attendance Code Mapping: Automatically Write Attendance to the SIS

When a Reviewer assigns an action code to a discipline incident, simpldiscipline can automatically write the appropriate attendance to your SIS. For this to occur, each discipline action code must first be mapped to the appropriate attendance code in simpldiscipline.

Accessing Attendance Settings

Navigate to: Red Admin Area > System Settings (left side navigation menu) > Attendance Settings

The Attendance Settings page will display any action codes that are currently configured for attendance mapping.

Viewing Existing Attendance Mappings

Click an action code to view the attendance code assigned to each school in the district.

Attendance mappings are configured by school, allowing different schools to use different attendance codes for the same discipline action when needed.

Changing an Existing Mapping

To update an existing mapping:

  1. Locate the appropriate action code.
  2. Select the new attendance code for the school.
  3. Save your changes.

You can also use the Assign all option to assign the same attendance code to multiple or all schools at once.

Adding a New Action Code

To configure attendance for an action code that is not currently listed:

  1. Select Add Action Code.
  2. Select the discipline action you would like to configure.
  3. Select Save Settings.
  4. Once the action has been added, configure the appropriate attendance code for each school or use Mass Assign to apply the same attendance code across all schools.

Important: Attendance Mappings Are Not Retroactive

Attendance mappings only apply to action codes assigned after the mapping has been configured.

Adding or changing an attendance mapping will not retroactively update attendance in the SIS for actions that were previously assigned.
