By default, simpldiscipline imports incident locations directly from your Student Information System (SIS). In some states, districts are limited to a predefined list of state-reportable incident locations and cannot add custom locations directly within the SIS.
However, districts may want to track more specific locations to improve reporting and analytics and better understand where incidents are actually occurring. For example, instead of using a general SIS location, a district may want to track locations such as bus, hallway, stairwell, parking lot, etc.
simpldiscipline allows districts to create these custom incident locations while mapping each one to the appropriate state-reportable SIS location.
Navigate to: Red Admin Area > System Settings (left navigation menu) > Incident Location Rewrite
To add a custom location:
Once configured, users can select the more specific custom location in simpldiscipline. When the incident is synced to the SIS, simpldiscipline uses the mapped SIS location to ensure the appropriate reportable location is sent.
Once a custom incident location has been added and used, it cannot be deleted directly because it may be associated with existing incident data.
If you need to remove or change an existing custom incident location, please submit a help ticket to help@simpledu.com. Our team will review the existing data and determine the appropriate path forward.
