Revert / Delete a Truancy Incident When a Student Is No Longer Truant | SC 151 Incident

If a student is no longer considered truant after excuses are received or attendance is corrected, you will need to revert the truancy incident in simpldiscipline.

Updating attendance may remove the student from the active truancy task list, but it does not automatically delete or revert an incident that has already been created.

To revert the incident:

  1. Open the student’s truancy incident in simpldiscipline.
  2. Select Revert Incident.
  3. Confirm the reversion.

Reverting the incident denies it in simpldiscipline and removes the corresponding incident from your student information system.

For detailed instructions, see Revert an Incident (Delete an Incident).

Recommended Process

When possible, wait to create the 151 truancy incident until you have exhausted the available options—unless you are using the 151 behavior code for documentation only and are not establishing the Attendance Intervention Plan (AIP) at that time.

The simplest approach is to leave the truancy task open until you have either:

  • Determined that submitted excuses will not be accepted, or
  • Met with the parent and established the AIP.
  • Established the AIP and sent it to the parent.

This helps prevent the need to create and later revert a truancy incident if attendance information changes.
