Updating the Attendance Contact Name, Phone Number, Email, or Absence Excuse Link
In simpldiscipline, each school can have a designated attendance contact name, phone number, email address, and absence excuse submission link. These fields are stored at the school location level and are commonly used in letter templates so that the correct contact information automatically appears on attendance-related documents.
If any of this information changes, it can be updated directly in the Locations and Schools settings within the Admin Area.
How These Fields Are Used
The attendance contact fields correspond to letter variables that are used in attendance and truancy letter templates. When a letter is generated, simpldiscipline automatically pulls the values from the school’s custom fields.
This ensures that:
•Each school’s letters contain the correct contact information.
•Updates only need to be made once for each location
•All letters using these variables will automatically reflect the updated information.
How to Update Attendance Contact Information
- Navigate to the Admin Area in simpldiscipline.
- Select Locations and Schools from the left navigation menu.
- Locate and click on the school you would like to update.
- Update any of the following fields as needed:
- Attendance Contact Name | {attendance_contact_name}
- Attendance Phone | {attendance_phone}
- Attendance Email | {attendance_email}
- Absence Excuse Link | {absence_excuse_link}
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Once saved, the updated information will automatically appear on any new letters or documents generated from this point forward.

•Always confirm the contact information with the school before making updates.
•If multiple staff members handle attendance, include both names if appropriate.
•Ensure phone numbers and emails are entered exactly as they should appear on official letters.
