Configuring Parent/Guardian Contact Settings
simpldiscipline imports all active contacts from PowerSchool. These contacts can be viewed at any time by clicking the “View Parent/Guardian Contacts” button, which is available throughout the system.
simpldiscipline respects contact start and end dates in PowerSchool. If a district would like a contact to no longer import into simpldiscipline, the contact must have an end date that has already passed in PowerSchool.
How Contacts Are Included for Notifications
While all active contacts are viewable, simpldiscipline restricts which contacts appear in the “Notify Parents/Guardians” email dialog.
By default, the following contacts are included:
•Contacts with a relationship of Mother, Father, or Guardian
•Any contact marked with the Custodial flag
•Any contact marked with the Lives With Student flag
These settings ensure that communication is directed to primary and custodial contacts unless otherwise configured by the district.
Customizing Which Contacts Appear in Notifications
District administrators can customize which contacts are included in the Notify Parents/Guardians function.
To update these settings:
1.Navigate to Admin Area
2.Select System Settings from the left navigation menu
3.Click Contacts
4.Check or uncheck the appropriate relationships and/or flags
5.Click Save
