simpldiscipline allows districts to create behavior levels to categorize and organize their behavior codes. This feature helps administrators group behaviors by severity or type, such as Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 offenses.
Note: We strongly recommend that districts request the simpldiscipline support team to configure behavior levels on their behalf. The setup process can be time-consuming and occasionally frustrating to complete manually.
However, if you prefer to configure these yourself, follow the step-by-step instructions below.
How Behavior Levels Work
When behavior levels are configured:
•Behavior codes are grouped by level in both the incident title dropdown and the behavior code selector during the incident approval process.
•This helps staff easily identify the severity of each behavior when creating or approving incidents.
Multiple Level Assignments
A single behavior code can appear in more than one level if needed.
For example:
•Behavior code 009 – Fighting could be listed as both a Level 1 and Level 2 behavior.
How to Configure Behavior Levels
1.Navigate to the Admin Area.
2.From the left-side navigation menu, select System Settings.
3.Click Behavior Code Categories.
4.Add or edit the levels as needed using the "Add a category" button.

You can drag and drop the behavior codes into the correct category.
When you’ve finished making your changes, be sure to click “Save Settings” to apply and store your updates.
